Boulle marquetry side cabinet, Napoleon III period, stamped “Diehl”

Fine Napoleon III period side cabinet with two detached columns adorned with asparagus motifs and mouldings, rich gilt bronze ornamentation with mouldings, spandrels, Corinthian capitals on the columns, rings, and floral motifs on the sides.
It is above all the marquetry that impresses on this cabinet, with a full door adorned with a muse surrounded by fluttering cherubs, flowers, foliate scrolls and volutes, and very fine engraving of the brass parts. Doubled framing fillets.

It is stamped in two places by the celebrated house of Diehl in Paris.
