Large Napoleon III Boulle marquetry cartel clock & bracket

Important ensemble, a cartel clock & its matching wall bracket in Boulle-style marquetry of brass on a tortoiseshell ground. Very fine gilt bronze ornaments, truly beautifully decorated. The interior is also inlaid on the back panel and the rear door; Hebe and Jupiter's eagle on the cresting, 2 putti on the door holding an hourglass and a flaming torch, 2 caryatids on the corners of the bracket.
