Two-door Napoleon III Boulle buffet cabinet signed PRETOT

Louis XIV style buffet cabinet opening with 2 doors, Boulle style marquetry in brass on a red tortoiseshell ground across the full doors and on the uprights. Splendid gilt bronze ornaments; the putti are signed by Hippolyte PRETOT (cabinetmaker and bronze-maker, 1812/1855). Double brass fillets are present throughout, further emphasising the highly decorative character of this piece. Soignies marble, mahogany interior with 2 shelves – double fillets on the edges), even the key is magnificent!
