Louis XVI style pedestal desk with slides, ebonized wood highlighted with brass-inlaid wood, fluting & gilt bronzes with masks, escutcheons & asparagus-tip motifs.
Opens at the front with 4 drawers: a large central one, 2 small ones on the left and a double one on the right – lock jammed –; 2 side slides are provided to give more working space.

The original writing surfaces will be replaced with new ones from Maison FEY, art leatherworkers in Paris – the sale price includes the fitting of a 3-piece set in imitation leather with gilt-tooled surrounds & central cartouche (colour to be decided with the future buyer); the fitting of a 3-piece set in genuine cowhide leather is possible for a supplement of €300
